Digital Slacker

I've been a bit neglectful of the blog and facebook page this past week but that's only because I've been totally productive in the real world!  I started sewing, got on a roll and couldn't stop.  I have a nice little stock pile of one of a kind mini monsters.  They all have different little felt accessories, which I am now completely obsessed with making.  I have to add all of them into the inventory before I can get them up for sale on the website but the pictures have been taken so they will be up today!

Website Revamp

I'm in the middle of overhauling the online store and I should have the new (and improved) flannelmonsters.com up by the end of the day.  It'll have a whole new look but better than that, it's going to be more user friendly.  Instead of having an integrated shopping cart and checkout button, I've linked each "add to cart" button directly to the paypal shopping cart.  The buttons are now in the traditional paypal style and you can view your paypal cart at any time.  It's hard to describe so stop by and see for yourself!  I've also added a few new monsters!

Rain?!

Pray for a break so I can take some pictures!  I'm dying to get picks up of my two newest creations.  They are one of a kinds and so ridiculously awesome!  I'm thinking about setting up an Etsy store for my funky OOAKs (that's craft for one of a kind. . . oh my does that make me feel like a geek).  I may just save them for the craft fairs and markets I'm planning on doing this season.  And I will definitely be entering them in the county fair (yup, break out the overalls and straw hats).  They have categories for ever handmade craft imaginable and before you ask, yes. . . there is an inmate envelope art category. . . seriously, there is.

Waiting for the sun

I really can't wait for the days to start getting longer.  I need those extra hours of sunlight!  For some reason I just can't seem to get any photos done and the queue is five monsters and counting.  It may have something to do with the fact that by the time I get a moment to think about what needs to get done I'm in bed and half asleep.  I have the set up figured out and it's relatively simple.  White sheet + sunlight = pretty photos.  It would be way easier if I could leave everything set up but white surfaces don't last long around here.  One close pass from the eternally sticky fingers of a three year old and it's shot.  Sticky little fingers are exactly why all of the monsters are immediately packed in plastic and boxed up in the closet.  I can't leave them within reach of the boys for even a second or they instantly and permanently become our property.  I'm going to be optimistic here and put photos on tomorrow's agenda. . . again.
